The first time we experienced the wonder of Bendooley Estate was at the wedding of Ananth and Lois. Upon entering the Estate, driving through the tall yet welcoming trees we headed to the reception venue, The Berkelouw Book Shop where at the time was open to the public for breakfast and lunch. It looked surreal. Thousands of books made for a timeless backdrop.
In the morning the Bride and Groom were situated in seperate cottage rooms. Each cottage is beautifully styled and keeps in line with the heritage styled, rustic look. There are plenty of wooden and metal structures near the cottages, perfect for detail shots. An abundance of trees and shade made bridal party portraits a breeze.
As the bride nears putting on her dress, she moved to a larger house closer to the ceremony. The house is draped with greenery and looks quite enchanting.
The Garden Ceremony area is only a few mins walk away from the public carpark and is guided by a beautiful gravel path, making the guests feel at home (and not lost). A vast green lawn with a perfectly groomed circular rose garden is surrounded by woodland shrubs and shaded by large rustic trees. Oh, we shouldn’t forget the lake that reflects the rich greens and blues from the trees and sky.
On completion of the ceremony, guests are spoilt with canape’s and a country view at the Lakeside Pavillion. During this time, Bendooley Estate treats the couple with amazing location spots for photography and videography. In addition to lakeside and greenery shots there are beautiful rustic structures all throughout the estate, you’re honestly spoilt with options.
Come reception time and once the Berkelouw Book Barn has been styled it looks more inviting than ever. Every part of the venue looks amazing. The food was delicious (yes we finally got to taste the food at dinner). Overall this venue is definitely in our Top 5 venues for filming and photography. It’s a relaxing, all in one venue that has all areas covered from preparations, ceremony, location shoot, canapes and reception. Bendooley Estate is one of our favourite Southern Highlands Wedding Venues.
